Tim Tate: Heart of St. Sebastian glass icon

Considered by many to be the finest contemporary glass artist in the region, Tate’s work travels far beyond technical mastery, using the transparent nature of glass to illuminate our often obscured views of sexuality and visibility. His work is in the permanent collections of many museums, including the Smithsonian’s American Art Museum. In 2004, he was voted one of Out Magazine’s “100 People of the Year.”
